Membership of COTA Tasmania Inc. can be either through
individual, joint, or organisational membership. See Support
Us for relevant application forms.
An annual fee is charged to assist with overall administrative
costs. The membership year is from July 1st to June 30th the following
year. Members can join throughout the year on a 'pro-rata' basis.
Membership Benefits
- A member of the peak advocacy organisation for ALL older
people in Tasmania.
- An opportunity to raise issues and concerns and to have COTA
(Tas) lobby on your behalf.
- Quarterly Newsletters; members are encouraged
to submit articles of interest or concern and to respond through
the 'Letters to the Editor' section.
- The opportunity to nominate to the Board of Directors.
- The opportunity to vote in the bi-annual Board
elections; (due in November 2006).
- An invitation to join one of the Policy Hubs, to
assist in the development of ongoing policy issues, either of a
national or state nature. Click here to

- Insurance cover through COTA South Australia
is currently available by phoning 1300 1300 50.
- The possibility of joining one of our Coalitions of Interest on
specific topics of concern to all older Tasmanians; current works
in progress:-
a) Financial matters (self-funded retirees / grandparenting allowances
/ tax).
b) Elder Abuse.
c) Alternative Housing Options.
d) Health Reform.
- Attend COTA (Tas) seminars on a variety of issues
of interest to seniors.
- Training courses (ie "Computing for the
mortally afraid").
