COTA Over 50's Alliance
The four COTAs
in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and Western
Australia have now formed a collaborative alliance to continue
their work at the national level and have already attracted the ARPA
Over 50s Association to join them in the COTA Over 50s Alliance. This Alliance does not constitute a new legal entity as yet, but is a formal grouping of policy-oriented organisations who have agreed to work together to develop and promote policies in the interest of all older people. Almost three quarters of all Australian seniors live in these four states and the individual membership of Alliance organisational members is estimated to exceed half a million. Collectively, the COTA Over 50s Alliance can access an unequalled resource of experience and insight with over 1,000 organisational members. The Alliance members expect other organisations to join and work in collaborative networks, on issues of common concern. It is gratifying that the State Governments in all four states, NSW, Victoria, WA and Tasmania have shown their confidence in their respective State COTAs by confirming their existing relationships so we can now look forward to a future with renewed vigour. |
